Empowering Mobility through Innovation

The vision of HuMod is first discussed around the proverbial watercooler of a MedTech startup (not this one) in 2021. It’s here that, along with genuine camaraderie, a foundational tenet begins to take shape:

Enterprise–and energy capital represented therein–should be directed towards solving difficult problems in service to those who are unable to do so themselves. In other words, “Let someone else make a better mousetrap; we are called to make a difference.”

Add a rather serendipitous synergy of individual goals plus three years bootstrapped in the metaphorical garage, and HuMod LLC emerges— Genesis V1 in tow.

We move forward with the belief that the human experience at-large is improved through the intelligent evolution and responsible deployment of assistive technologies– and we are proud to be contributing to that mission right here in Peoria, Il.

Project Genesis is an endeavor to change the way the world thinks about not just the future of prosthetics, but of human potential. Our first objective is to restore the lost biological ambulatory capabilities of nearly two million Americans who currently lack access to this technology.

Starting with an actively actuated foot and ankle, we are working to reintroduce biological motion to our fellow humans who deserve the ability to live life to the fullest with every step of every day.

Meet the Founders

Joseph Kaisner – Chief Product Officer
As the original visionary behind our drive to deliver bio-mechanical synthesis, Joseph leverages a background in the automotive and performance motorsports industries to bring unparalleled expertise in mechanical systems and champion a bold, imaginative vision for HuMod. As CPO, he leads the product development of Genesis, overseeing its mechanical design, native systems, and feature set selection with a meticulous focus on user-centric integration and innovation.

Amos Crumrine – Chief Technology Officer
Amos's extensive experience in design and engineering includes specialties in PCB design, embedded systems, and CAD software. Having worked in advanced technology settings like VirtuSense Technologies, Amos plays a critical role in developing the technical backbone of Genesis. His focus spans the entire spectrum of hardware design, from control boards to system architecture​​.

Matthew Dylewski – Chief Executive Officer
An NASM Certified Personal Trainer holding an MBA from Robert Morris University, Matt brings a strategic vision to HuMod. With a background in human performance, logistics, operations, and client relations, he ensures the seamless alignment of business strategy with its technical ambitions. His leadership fosters a collaborative environment where innovation thrives. Matt also spearheads fundraising and outreach efforts, ensuring that HuMod is not only technically advanced but also financially sustainable​.
